Here at Castaways, we believe in the power of the Pub (short for Public House). And like all good Pubs, we offer the public:

  • Cold craft beer on tap (the only place in the area!)

  • Tasty, home-cooked comfort food

  • Games and entertainment

  • Service with a smile , and

  • A relaxed atmosphere where all are welcome

All of this, within a minute's walk from the beach on Nicaragua's Emerald Coast.

Castaways Craft Beers on Tap

Toña and Victoria are everywhere, but Castaways is the only place around serving ice-cold draft beers from Nicaraguan craft brewer, Moropotente. We offer an Irish Stout, Blonde Ale, Pale Ale and Red Ale - perfect for post-surf refreshment. If you've been traveling a while , drinking cans and bottles , why not treat yourself to a crisp, fresh pint of local goodness.

Castaways Burgers and Gyros

Current Menu:

Greek Style Gyros - Marinated Chicken/Pork served with tzatziki and red onions on handmade pita bread.

The Fully-Loaded Beef Burger - served with caramelized onion, mozzarella cheese, avocado, tomato and lettuce.

*Hand-cut potato fries served with all meals  and available to order separately.
*Vegetarian Options available
*We use Nicaraguan produce as much as possible and meat sourced locally from the Emerald Coast.

Pool and games at Castaways

Every good Pub has games  for its guests, and we're no different. Play some pool on our antique table, challenge your amigos to Jenga or Connect Four and we have Cornhole and Beer Pong for die-hard fans. Swing by for some nice, clean fun.

Built with Local Materials

Castaways Pub Naturally Built

The entire Pub area was built using a combination of local timber, stone and palm by local tradesmen. Most of our furniture is wood that we salvaged from the beach and repurposed after a storm. We believe in recycling where possible to reduce wastage.

Popoyo's Magic Mile

Castaways is the start of the Popoyo Magic Mile

Starting in 2021, the Popoyo Magic Mile is the monthly beach bar crawl. Join the crew and hop from bar to bar along the beach!
