Why Castaways Nicaragua?
There are plenty places you can visit on a trip to Nicaragua. Here in Popoyo, on the Emerald Coast Region, Castaways Nicaragua is more than just a place to drink. We support our community by hiring staff and buying produce and meat that comes from our local region. We proudly stock Nicaraguan drinks and are the only place in the area that sells Nicaraguan Craft Beer on Tap. Our food is delicious, our Casitas are cosy and we aim to make your experience here a relaxing, refreshing and memorable one.

ABOUT US
We're a couple of friends from different parts of the world, who met in Europe and worked together as Tour Guides. Looking for a piece of paradise to call our own, we found it here in Nicaragua a few years ago. We decided our mission was to put our heart and soul into creating a place where people from all walks of life could visit comfortable, relax at leisurely and feel right at home. The casitas were built in 2017 by the Playa Santana Project - a collaboration between local builders and international volunteers, while the main rancho that houses the Pub was finished in 2021. Our vision is to grow sustainably on our property and offer more accommodation, tasty plates and good vibes to our community of neighbors and travelers over the coming years. We are all Castaways, not because we've been abandoned by society, but because we're creating our own community where everyone is welcome.
Collaboration is part of our mission - we're always on the lookout for volunteers who can help out at Castaways Nicaragua, particularly with experience in cooking, bar work and construction.
Likewise, we occasionally have the opportunity for a Manager/Management Couple to join and take over the running of the property, when required.
